Genevieve Williamson

My work serves as a visual conversation in contrast and relationship, (both visual and human), one in which asymmetry and repetition are centrally involved. I am influenced by natural elements, history and architecture and my work is marked by a strong focus on texture.

Reclamation of leftover materials is integral to my work, allowing materials to drive design choices so that I can react to what is readily available.

My work is rarely linear, the outcome often being realized after a piece is finished organically. The inherently personal nature of wearable art furthers the idea of relationship; the wearer serving as both the viewer and the setting.
